Max on the road
I’m writing this quickly on the drive to Baltimore from Chicago to set up a sweet fucking rock memorabilia gallery.
My time with R3 has been ludicrously productive. So many excellent folks exemplifying enthusiastic collaboration.
A few nights back, the good folks at Reggie’s Rock Club (howdy, Elle) treated us to dinner and a tour of their building. Solid bar food, and amazing facilities. There are two performance areas, a one hundredish capacity dining room with a stage, and another four hundredish-capacity proper rock club. The floor is tilted steeply towards the stage, ensuring both a) everyone can have a good view of the act, and b) the moshers aim better.
Reggie’s is a delightful example of artistic entrepreneurship. It’s reminiscent of R3 in a lot of ways, which should make for a lovely partnership with the studio we’re building there. Besides the two stages, bars, and restaurant, Reggies also features an impressive record store, screen printing shop, and lounge.
I’m performing there 9/6/09. Stand-up comedy.
Couldn’t be more excited.
Sleep time now.
